Genesis

Gene DuplicationsMore than a book, the Genesis account written by Moses opens with one of the most notable sentences of any literary work: “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” – the origin of time, space, and matter, like a “Big Bang.”

The integration of the creation account throughout the books of the Bible underscores the importance of Genesis, serving as the foundational driving principle of the emerging Scientific Revolution.

Science

In the fourteenth century, Nicholas Copernicus (1473-1543) launched the Scientific Revolution by applying what is now called the scientific method. In the words of Copernicus –

“The mechanisms of the universe, wrought for us by a supremely good and orderly Creator… the system best and most orderly artist of all framed for our sake.”

The scientific method has been critical for scientifically studying Genesis’s natural and supernatural events.

Ubiquity

Of the sixty-six books in the Bible written over more than 1,500 years, nearly forty percent of the books refer directly to the Genesis account of creation.

The diversity of writers, from kings to laborers separated by space and time, highlights the ubiquitous significance of the natural and supernatural events of the Genesis account.

The following are quotes from the books referring to the Genesis account of creation, in their sequential biblical order.

GENESIS

Chapter 1

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth.

2 The Earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.

5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.

6 Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

7 Thus God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.

8 And God called the firmament Heaven. So, the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 Then God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

10 And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.

12 And the Earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years;

15 and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so.

16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.

17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the Earth,

18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.

20 Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.”

21 So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

23 So the evening and the morning were the fifth day.

24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.

25 And God made the beast of the Earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the Earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 So God created Man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the Earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.

30 Also, to every beast of the Earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the Earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.

31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Chapter 2

1 Thus the heavens and the Earth, and all the host of them, were finished.

2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

4 This is the history of the heavens and the Earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the Earth and the heavens,

5 before any plant of the field was in the Earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the Earth, and there was no man to till the ground;

6 but a mist went up from the Earth and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the LORD God formed Man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and Man became a living being.

8 The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the Man whom He had formed.

9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads.

11 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold.

12 And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there.

13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush.

14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.

15 Then the LORD God took the Man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.

16 And the LORD God commanded the Man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat;

17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.

20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from Man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the Man.

23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”

24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

25 And they were both naked, the Man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

Chapter 7

11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

12 And rain fell on the Earth forty days and forty nights.

EXODUS

20:11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the Earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

23:10-12 “Six years you shall sow your land and gather in its produce, 11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave, the beasts of the field may eat. In like manner you shall do with your vineyard and your olive grove. 12 Six days you shall do your work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female servant and the stranger may be refreshed.

24:16-18 Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. 17 The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. 18 So Moses went into the midst of the cloud and went up into the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights

31:17 It is a sign between Me and the children of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the Earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed.'”

34:21 “Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; in plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.

35:2 Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh day shall be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD.

NUMBERS

16:22 Then they fell on their faces, and said, “O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and You be angry with all the congregation?”

NEHEMIAH

9:6 You alone are the LORD; You have made heaven, The heaven of heavens, with all their host, The Earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.

JOB

4:7

Can a mortal be more righteous than God?

Can a man be more pure than his Maker?

9:4-10

God is wise in heart and mighty in strength.

Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?

He removes the mountains, and they do not know

When He overturns them in His anger;

He shakes the Earth out of its place,

And its pillars tremble;

He commands the sun, and it does not rise;

He seals off the stars;

He alone spreads out the heavens,

And treads on the waves of the sea;

He made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades,

And the chambers of the south;

He does great things past finding out,

Yes, wonders without number.

26:7-10

He stretches out the north over empty space;

He hangs the Earth on nothing.

He binds up the water in His thick clouds,

Yet the clouds are not broken under it.

He covers the face of His throne,

And spreads His cloud over it.

He drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters,

At the boundary of light and darkness.

The pillars of heaven tremble,

And are astonished at His rebuke.

He stirs up the sea with His power,

And by His understanding He breaks up the storm.

By His Spirit He adorned the heavens;

His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.

31:15

Did not He who made me in the womb make them?

Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?

32:22

For I do not know how to flatter,

Else my Maker would soon take me away.

33:4

The Spirit of God has made me,

And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

35:10-11

But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker,

Who gives songs in the night,

Who teaches us more than the beasts of the Earth,

And makes us wiser than the birds of heaven?’

36:3

I will fetch my knowledge from afar;

I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

38:1-41

Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:

“Who is this who darkens counsel

By words without knowledge?

Now prepare yourself like a man;

I will question you, and you shall answer Me.

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the Earth?

Tell Me, if you have understanding.

Who determined its measurements?

Surely you know! Or who stretched the line upon it?

To what were its foundations fastened?

Or who laid its cornerstone,

When the morning stars sang together,

And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

“Or who shut in the sea with doors,

When it burst forth and issued from the womb;

When I made the clouds its garment,

And thick darkness its swaddling band;

When I fixed My limit for it,

And set bars and doors;

When I said,

‘This far you may come, but no farther,

And here your proud waves must stop!’

“Have you commanded the morning since your days began,

And caused the dawn to know its place,

That it might take hold of the ends of the Earth,

And the wicked be shaken out of it?

It takes on form like clay under a seal and stands out like a garment.

From the wicked their light is withheld,

And the upraised arm is broken.

“Have you entered the springs of the sea?

Or have you walked in search of the depths?

Have the gates of death been revealed to you?

Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?

Have you comprehended the breadth of the Earth?

Tell Me, if you know all this.

“Where is the way to the dwelling of light?

And darkness, where is its place,

That you may take it to its territory,

That you may know the paths to its home?

Do you know it, because you were born then,

Or because the number of your days is great?

“Have you entered the treasury of snow,

Or have you seen the treasury of hail,

Which I have reserved for the time of trouble,

For the day of battle and war?

By what way is light diffused,

Or the east wind scattered over the Earth?

“Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water,

Or a path for the thunderbolt,

To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one,

A wilderness in which there is no man;

To satisfy the desolate waste,

And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass?

Has the rain a father?

Or who has begotten the drops of dew?

From whose womb comes the ice?

And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?

The waters harden like stone,

And the surface of the deep is frozen.

“Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades,

Or loose the belt of Orion?

Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season?

Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs?

Do you know the ordinances of the heavens?

Can you set their dominion over the Earth?

“Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,

That an abundance of water may cover you?

Can you send out lightnings, that they may go,

And say to you, ‘Here we are!‘?

Who has put wisdom in the mind?

Or who has given understanding to the heart?

Who can number the clouds by wisdom?

Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,

When the dust hardens in clumps,

And the clods cling together?

“Can you hunt the prey for the lion,

Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,

When they crouch in their dens,

Or lurk in their lairs to lie in wait?

Who provides food for the raven,

When its young ones cry to God,

And wander about for lack of food?

39:1-30

“Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats bear young?

Or can you mark when the deer gives birth?

Can you number the months that they fulfill?

Or do you know the time when they bear young?

They bow down,

They bring forth their young,

They deliver their offspring.

Their young ones are healthy,

They grow strong with grain;

They depart and do not return to them.

“Who set the wild donkey free?

Who loosed the bonds of the onager,

Whose home I have made the wilderness,

And the barren land his dwelling?

He scorns the tumult of the city;

He does not heed the shouts of the driver.

The range of the mountains is his pasture,

And he searches after every green thing.

“Will the wild ox be willing to serve you?

Will he bed by your manger?

Can you bind the wild ox in the furrow with ropes?

Or will he plow the valleys behind you?

Will you trust him because his strength is great?

Or will you leave your labor to him?

Will you trust him to bring home your grain,

And gather it to your threshing floor?

“The wings of the ostrich wave proudly,

But are her wings and pinions like the kindly stork’s?

For she leaves her eggs on the ground,

And warms them in the dust;

She forgets that a foot may crush them,

Or that a wild beast may break them.

She treats her young harshly, as though they were not hers;

Her labor is in vain, without concern,

Because God deprived her of wisdom,

And did not endow her with understanding.

When she lifts herself on high,

She scorns the horse and its rider.

“Have you given the horse strength?

Have you clothed his neck with thunder?

Can you frighten him like a locust?

His majestic snorting strikes terror.

He paws in the valley, and rejoices in his strength;

He gallops into the clash of arms.

He mocks at fear, and is not frightened;

Nor does he turn back from the sword.

The quiver rattles against him,

The glittering spear and javelin.

He devours the distance with fierceness and rage;

Nor does he come to a halt because the trumpet has sounded.

At the blast of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha!’ He smells the battle from afar,

The thunder of captains and shouting.

“Does the hawk fly by your wisdom,

And spread its wings toward the south?

Does the eagle mount up at your command,

And make its nest on high?

On the rock it dwells and resides,

On the crag of the rock and the stronghold.

From there it spies out the prey;

Its eyes observe from afar.

Its young ones suck up blood;

And where the slain are, there it is.

40:15-19

“Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you;

He eats grass like an ox.

See now, his strength is in his hips,

And his power is in his stomach muscles.

He moves his tail like a cedar;

The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.

His bones are like beams of bronze,

His ribs like bars of iron.

He is the first of the ways of God;

Only He who made him can bring near His sword.

PSALMS

8:3-5

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,

What is Man that You are mindful of him,

And the son of Man that You visit him?

For You have made him a little lower than the angels,

And You have crowned him with glory and honor.

19:1-6

The heavens declare the glory of God;

And the firmament shows His handiwork.

Day unto day utters speech,

And night unto night reveals knowledge.

There is no speech nor language

Where their voice is not heard.

Their line has gone out through all the Earth,

And their words to the end of the world.

In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun,

Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,

And rejoices like a strong man to run its race.

Its rising is from one end of heaven,

And its circuit to the other end;

And there is nothing hidden from its heat.

24:1-2

The Earth is the LORD’s, and all its fullness,

The world and those who dwell therein.

For He has founded it upon the seas,

And established it upon the waters.

33:6-7

By the Word of the LORD the heavens were made,

And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;

He lays up the deep in storehouses.

89:11-14

The heavens are Yours, the Earth also is Yours;

The world and all its fullness,

You have founded them.

The north and the south, You have created them;

Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Your name.

You have a mighty arm;

Strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand.

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;

Mercy and truth go before Your face.

94:9

He who planted the ear, shall He not hear?

He who formed the eye, shall He not see?

104:1-26

Bless the LORD, O my soul!

O LORD my God, You are very great:

You are clothed with honor and majesty,

Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment,

Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.

He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters,

Who makes the clouds His chariot,

Who walks on the wings of the wind,

Who makes His angels spirits,

His ministers a flame of fire.

You who laid the foundations of the Earth,

So that it should not be moved forever,

You covered it with the deep as with a garment;

The waters stood above the mountains.

At Your rebuke they fled;

At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.

They went up over the mountains;

They went down into the valleys,

To the place which You founded for them.

You have set a boundary that they may not pass over,

That they may not return to cover the Earth.

He sends the springs into the valleys;

They flow among the hills.

They give drink to every beast of the field;

The wild donkeys quench their thirst.

By them the birds of the heavens have their home;

They sing among the branches.

He waters the hills from His upper chambers;

The Earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,

And vegetation for the service of Man,

That he may bring forth food from the Earth,

And wine that makes glad the heart of Man,

Oil to make his face shine,

And bread which strengthens Man’s heart.

The trees of the LORD are full of sap,

The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

Where the birds make their nests;

The stork has her home in the fir trees.

The high hills are for the wild goats;

The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.

He appointed the moon for seasons;

The sun knows its going down.

You make darkness, and it is night,

In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.

The young lions roar after their prey,

And seek their food from God.

When the sun rises, they gather together

And lie down in their dens.

Man goes out to his work

And to his labor until the evening.

O LORD, how manifold are Your works!

In wisdom You have made them all.

The Earth is full of Your possessions—

This great and wide sea, In which are innumerable teeming things,

Living things both small and great.

There the ships sail about;

There is that Leviathan Which You have made to play there.

115:15

May you be blessed by the LORD,

Who made heaven and Earth.

119:73

Your hands have made me and fashioned me;

Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.

119:90

Your faithfulness endures to all generations;

You established the Earth, and it abides.

134:3

The LORD who made heaven and Earth

Bless you from Zion!

136:4-9

To Him who alone does great wonders,

For His mercy endures forever;

To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,

For His mercy endures forever;

To Him who laid out the Earth above the waters,

For His mercy endures forever;

To Him who made great lights,

For His mercy endures forever—

The sun to rule by day,

For His mercy endures forever;

The moon and stars to rule by night,

For His mercy endures forever.

139:13-16

For You formed my inward parts;

You covered me in my mother’s womb.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Marvelous are Your works,

And that my soul knows very well.

My frame was not hidden from You,

When I was made in secret,

And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the Earth.

Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.

And in Your book they all were written,

The days fashioned for me,

When as yet there were none of them.

145:9

The LORD is good to all,

And His tender mercies are over all His works.

146:5-6

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,

Whose hope is in the LORD his God,

Who made heaven and Earth,

The sea, and all that is in them;

Who keeps truth forever,

149:2

Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;

Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

PROVERBS

13:19 -20 The LORD by wisdom founded the Earth;

By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew.

8:22-31 The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before His works of old.

I have been established from everlasting, From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.

When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains abounding with water.

Before the mountains were settled, Before the hills, I was brought forth; While as yet He had not made the Earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of the world.

When He prepared the heavens, I was there, When He drew a circle on the face of the deep, When He established the clouds above, When He strengthened the fountains of the deep, When He assigned to the sea its limit, So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the foundations of the Earth, Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, Rejoicing in His inhabited world, And my delight was with the sons of men.

17:5 He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker

30:4 Who has ascended into heaven, or descended? Who has gathered the wind in His fists? Who has bound the waters in a garment? Who has established all the ends of the Earth? What is His name, and what is His Son’s name, If you know?

ECCLESIASTES

3:9 He has made everything beautiful in its time.

Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

7:29 Truly, this only I have found: That God made Man upright, But they have sought out many schemes

12:1 Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth

12:6-7 Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed, Or the golden bowl is broken, Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain, Or the wheel broken at the well.

Then the dust will return to the Earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.

ISAIAH

17:7 In that day a man will look to his Maker, 29:16 Surely you have things turned around! Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the thing made say of him who made it, “He did not make me”? Or shall the thing formed say of him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?

37:16 “O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, the One who dwells between the cherubim,

You are God,

You alone, of all the kingdoms of the Earth.

You have made heaven and Earth.

40:28: Have you not known? Have you not heard , that the everlasting God , the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the Earth, nether is weary? there is no searching for His understanding.

40:22: It is He that sits upon the circle of the Earth, and the inhabitants are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in.

40:26-28 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.

Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God”?

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the Earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

42:5 Thus says God the LORD, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread forth the Earth and that which comes from it, Who gives breath to the people on it, And spirit to those who walk on it:

43:1 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel:

44:24 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, And He who formed you from the womb:

“I am the LORD, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself…”

45:7-12 I will gird you, though you have not known Me, That they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting That there is none besides Me. I am the LORD, and there is no other;

I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the LORD, do all these things.’

“Rain down, you heavens, from above, And let the skies pour down righteousness; Let the Earth open, let them bring forth salvation, And let righteousness spring up together. I, the LORD, have created it.

“Woe to him who strives with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the Earth! Shall the clay say to him who forms it, ‘What are you making?’ Or shall your handiwork say, ‘He has no hands’? Woe to him who says to his father, ‘What are you begetting?’ Or to the woman, ‘What have you brought forth?'”

Thus says the LORD, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me. I have made the Earth, And created Man on it. I—My hands—stretched out the heavens, And all their host I have commanded.”

45:18 For thus says the LORD, Who created the heavens,

Who is God, Who formed the Earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited:

48:13 Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the Earth, And My right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call to them, They stand up together.

49:5 And now the LORD says, Who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant, 51:13 And you forget the LORD your Maker, Who stretched out the heavens And laid the foundations of the Earth;

51:16 And I have put My words in your mouth; I have covered you with the shadow of My hand, That I may plant the heavens, Lay the foundations of the Earth, And say to Zion, ‘You are My people.'”

54:5 For your Maker is your husband, The LORD of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole Earth. 54:16 “Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy.

66:1-2 Thus says the LORD:

“Heaven is My throne, And Earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me?

And where is the place of My rest? For all those things My hand has made, And all those things exist,”

Says the LORD.

JEREMIAH

41:4-5 Then the Word of the LORD came to me, saying:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

10:11-13 Thus you shall say to them: “The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.”

He has made the Earth by His power,

He has established the world by His wisdom,

And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion.

When He utters His voice,

There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the Earth. He makes lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”

10:16 The Portion of Jacob is not like them, For He is the Maker of all things,

31:35 Thus says the LORD, Who gives the sun for a light by day, The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The LORD of hosts is His name):

51:15 He has made the Earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, And stretched out the heaven by His understanding. When He utters His voice— There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:

“He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings for the rain; He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”

JONAH

1:9 So he said to them, “I am a Hebrew; and I fear the LORD, the God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.

ZACHARIAH

12:1 Thus says the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the Earth, and forms the spirit of Man within him

MATTHEW

13:34-35 All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

“I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world’

MARK

10:16 But from the beginning of the creation, God’ made them male and female.’

13:19 For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be.

LUKE

11:49-51 Therefore the wisdom of God also said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’ that the blood of all the prophets which was shed from the foundation of the world may be required of this generation, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah who perished between the altar and the temple.

JOHN

1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.

ACTS

4:24 So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them…”

7:48-50 However, the Most High does not dwell in temples made with hands, as the prophet says:

‘Heaven is My throne, And Earth is My footstool. What house will you build for Me? says the LORD, Or what is the place of My rest? Has My hand not made all these things?’

14:14-16 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out and saying, “Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the Earth, the sea, and all things that are in them…”

17:24-26 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and Earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the Earth…

ROMANS

1:20-21, 25 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened…. who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.

9:20 But indeed, O Man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?”

I TIMOTHY

11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of Man.

15:44-49 There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. The first Man was of the Earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.

As was the Man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the Man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man.

I CORINTHIANS

1:3-4 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world

EPHESIANS

1:15-17 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

3:9-10 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old Man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new Man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him

COLOSSIANS

2:3 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.

HEBREWS

1:1-2 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds

1:10 You, LORD, in the beginning laid the foundation of the Earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.

4:3-4 For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,'” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”

JAMES

1:17-18 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the Word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of His creatures.

REVELATION

4:11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”

14:7 “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
